…She is tired, 47 years of this…
…She looked up to him, wanted to make him proud, this brother of hers…
…What a smeared picture of him she had painted all these years…
…Pretending that he was always building her up…
…When in reality he had always made her feel…
…Significantly Insignificant…
…He had always talked a good game…
…She believed people meant what they said…
…She went out and did many things he had only talked about…
…She thought he would be impressed…
…Yet she remains…
…Significantly Insignificant…
…He cannot sit down and have a conversation with her…
…He cannot say he is proud…
…He cannot look her in the eye, give her a hug, or the time of day…
…She will remain…
…Significantly Insignificant…

Well, that’s a rather heavy situation for me to read on a Saturday morning with only my first cup of coffee! The first quote seems to fit you, the second quote (Jackson’s) seems to fit me. Either way…life is just hard sometimes. We accept what is and move on?
I agree, sometimes though it’s hard to figure out “what is”. For me I have to stop trying to “figure out” and move on! Release my expectations of family and just live my life…
